Hilary Hayes is a Theatre Costume Design MFA candidate at Penn State University, estimated to complete her degree in 2025.

Before coming to Penn State, she worked for various ballet, theatre, and opera companies in Santa Barbara, CA and Kirkland, WA, and Chautauqua, NY. She is interested in all areas associated with telling a story through clothing and has experience in costume design, design assisting, construction, crafts, millinery, wig setting and ventilation, and wardrobe.   

Hilary believes that all productions no matter their size deserve well-crafted costumes that enhance the director’s vision, support the actors, and tell a story. Focused on balancing craftsmanship with the available resources of money, time, and energy, she is known to produce creative solutions that surpass expectations.
